The Department of Human Biology and Integrated Pathology at Nelson Mandela University's Missionvale Campus is dedicated to transforming healthcare education in the Eastern Cape. Established in 2021 as part of South Africa’s 10th medical school, our department plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Our curriculum is designed to provide a comprehensive, community-focused medical education, encompassing seven core disciplines: Anatomical Pathology, Human Anatomy, Clinical Pharnacology, Human Physiology, Medical Biochemistry and Microbiology and Virology. These disciplines collaborate to offer an integrated curriculum that reflects the complexities of human health and disease.
